Step 1: Clean & Dry the Area Before you sparkle, make sure your skin and beard are freshly washed and completely dry. No moisturiser, oils, or leftover snacks - glitter needs a clean base to stick.
Step 2: Apply Your Gel Base Choose your adhesive based on your beard type and desired hold:
Aloe Vera Gel – perfect for sensitive skin and light hold
Hair Gel – ideal for thick beards or a longer-lasting glitter effect
Apply a generous layer to the beard, chin, cheeks, or wherever you want the glitter to go. Use your fingers or an application brush for even coverage.
Step 3: Add Your Glitter Dip a brush (like a toothbrush or a fluffy makeup brush) into your chosen biodegradable glitter. Press the glitter gently onto the gel-covered area. Pat, don’t rub - you're placing, not scrubbing!
Step 4: Layer It Up Once the first layer has set, you can build up more sparkle for maximum impact. Mix glitter colours, blend fine and chunky textures, or create cool effects like an ombré fade.
Step 5: Seal the Deal This step’s optional but powerful - lightly mist hairspray over your glitter beard to help lock it in place. No one likes a glitter trail (unless that’s the vibe).

💦 Removal (A.K.A. The Glitter Come Down)
Brush Out
Most of it will brush out – especially if you used hair gel or didn’t go full glitter warrior mode. Just grab a clean brush or dry towel and gently sweep away the excess.
For the Stubborn Sparkly Stragglers
Massage in a little coconut oil, beard oil, or your fave skin-safe oil.
Wipe with a warm cloth.
Cleanse and moisturise so your skin forgives you.
Pro tip: Embrace the rogue glitter flecks. They say, “I had a better night than you.”
Jump in the Shower
Sometimes the easiest fix is a good rinse. Warm water and your usual face wash or beard shampoo will shift most of the sparkle — no drama, no oil slicks, just you and your drain glittering like Studio 54. Just maybe give your plughole a pep talk first.
The Glitter Beard Collection
Our curated selection of the best sparkle and accessories for creating show-stopping glitter beards
To get glitter to stick to a beard, first apply a thin layer of beard oil, hair gel, or a styling product to make the hair slightly sticky. Then, gently sprinkle or press the glitter onto the beard, so it adheres and stays in place.
